Getting to St Catherine’s is undoubtedly easiest by car – the church is half way up Birtles Lane which runs between the A537 Chelford Road and B5087 Macclesfield Road – the postcode is SK10 4RX if using satellite navigation.

There is a Manchester / Macclesfield ‘bus service along Chelford Road and the stop is Birtles Lane. Be prepared for a ¾ mile walk, mainly uphill, passing Birtles Lake on the right and Birtles New Hall in the distance on the left before seeing the church tower proudly flying the St George’s flag – the church is opposite Highlees Wood.
